Spike alerts
Get an instant heads-up the moment your site takes off, or you hit the front page of Hacker News. Spike alerts monitor traffic in real-time and send you an e-mail when visits surge beyond a chosen threshold.
How it works
Every 60 seconds the backend looks at the last 5-minute window and compares it to the preceding hour:
Sensitivity | Trigger | Minimum volume |
---|---|---|
Relaxed | 5× usual traffic | 100 visits in 5 min |
Normal | 3× usual traffic | 50 visits |
Aggressive | 2× usual traffic | 20 visits |
After an alert fires we wait 60 minutes before sending another to keep your inbox calm.
Enabling alerts
- From All Sites click the Alerts button on a site card or open Site → Spike alerts from the dashboard side-menu.
- Flip Send spike alerts on.
- Choose Sensitivity with the slider (Relaxed ▸ Aggressive).
- Save.

Ideal for those Product Hunt launches, or you know when you launch on some competitor that's better than PH, where every minute counts.
